1. PURPOSE
1.1 In the interest of the chief officers and the community’s health and safety, this document is established to provide guidelines for maintaining a safe work environment.

3.1 The department shall maintain a safe working environment during a response in accordance with OSHA
PROCEDURE
- 4.1 During the hours of 6 PM and 6 AM the duty chief shall respond to all fire department emergencies with lights and siren. From 6 AM to 6 PM any available chief will respond.
- 4.2 Chief Officers not on duty and responding to an emergency shall also proceed with lights and siren until a code yellow or blue is given by a chief officer on scene or an order to have all units proceed with caution is given. At that time all other chiefs shall respond with caution
- 4.3 Chief Officers responding with a non fire department member in the vehicle shall respond under caution without lights and siren to all emergencies.
- 4.4 Chief Officers responding in their personal vehicles shall not use their vehicle to block or divert traffic at an incident. If a vehicle is needed, have a marked Union Fire District vehicle or a police vehicle respond.
