1. PURPOSE
1.1 In the interest of the department member’s health and safety, this document is established to provide guidelines maintaining safe apparatus response.

3.1 The department shall maintain a safe working environment within the facility in accordance with OSHA
4. PROCEDURE
4.1 Any apparatus requested to the Town of Narragansett will be dispatched through Station “K”. Once the apparatus has been dispatched, the Union Fire District units will confirm through Station “K” their response and then utilize the 800 radio to confirm their response with Narragansett Fire Alarm or Station “G”.
4.1.1 When the Narragansett Fire Department requests one engine to stand by, a signal 100 will be issued for Stations 1, 2, 3, or 6. The first engine on the air shall be dispatched to stand by at the designated station. Responding apparatus will use caution during this response.
4.1.1.1 Note to all Union Fire District responders: When a signal 100 is issued to respond to Narragansett, before you sign on, the responding unit should provide ample time for firefighters to respond to their stations in order to ensure there will be a minimum of 3 personnel per unit. If after waiting ample time, if only 2 firefighters are aboard, you may proceed. At not time shall en engine respond with 1 firefighter.
4.1.2 When the Narragansett Fire Department requests a response for a structure fire, a task force will be dispatched to the scene. The task force will consist of Ladder 1, Special Hazards 1, and the first 2 engines on the air from Stations 1, 2, 3, or 6. Two chief officers should also be assigned. Dispatch Example: Stations 1, 2, 3 or 6; Narragansett has requested a task force to respond to (address) . . 4.1.2.1 Task Force will consist of 2 Engines, Ladder 1, Special Hazards 1 along with 2 chief officers from the Union Fire District. The chief officers will serve as our command and safety officers for the Union Fire District personnel.
4.1.3 For Ice Rescues, the first 2 units with ice rescue sleds from Stations 1, 2, 3, or 6 to sign on shall be dispatched to the scene. Dispatch Example: Stations 1, 2, 3, or 6; Narragansett has requested ice rescue response to (location) …
